Objective: To determine the diagnostic accuracy of cold test and electric Pulp testing for pulp vitality in single rooted teeth with irreversible pulpitis Materials & Methods: This cross-sectional study validation was carried out Operative dentistry department at Rehman College Dentistry Peshawar, from January 2019 to June 2019. Non-probability consecutive sampling technique used. Expected sensitivity 0.94 expected specificity 0.92, keeping β-error (precision) 6% α-error (confidence interval) 95%, sample size calculated. A total 120 participants history were included study. Teeth cleaned ionic medium (toothpaste) applied diseased tooth. An tester (EPT) refrigerant spray (cold test) used apply mid facial surface teeth. Positive response electrical stimulus recorded as ‘vital’ while absence showed that tooth is ‘non-vital. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value negative overall both EPT Results: On clinical observation 81(45%) non-vital 99(55%) vital. Sensitivity 94.95% 92.59% respectively 93.89%. values lesser than EPT. 77.78% 75.31% respectively. And 76.67%. Conclusion: more reliable diagnosing vitality. higher males, but females. Age has no association diagnosis
